128th NGAUS General Conference

The 128th General Conference of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) is in Albuquerque, New Mexico this year. On Friday, September 15th, activities will begin with the resolutions committee, membership committee, TAG’s reception/dinner, Company Grade/Warrant Officer Mixer, and the NGAUS Golf Tournament. The first business session will convene on Saturday, September 16th and will adjourn with the States’ Dinner on Monday, September 18th. The Albuquerque Convention Center will be the site for the main business meetings and exhibits.
 
The National Guard Association of New Mexico is hosting the 128th NGAUS Conference. All Army and Air National Guard active and retired, Officers and Warrant Officers, and their families and friends are welcome to attend.

CONFERENCE INFORMATION

 
REGISTRATION
If you are interested in attending this year’s conference, complete the enclosed Registration Form and forward it to the Executive Director, NGAPA, who will register all delegates prior to the conference. Delegates will not register at the conference. The registration fee is $125.00 for non-NGAPA members, spouses, and guests. The NGAPA will pay the registration for all members with a 2006 paid membership. The registration fee covers the cost of the Governor’s Reception, State’s Dinner, Spouse’s lunch, TAG spouse’s lunch, Company Grade/Warrant Officer Mixer and luncheon. Not covered in the registration fee are the golf tournament, 5K Fun Run, and the Retired/Separated luncheon. Registration forms and fees must be received NO LATER THAN July 20, 2005.
 
Hotel PictureACCOMMODATIONS
Our conference hotel, is the Albuquerque Marriott on Louisiana Boulevard. Our delegation has reserved 40 rooms at the Marriott, which will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. The room rate is $109.00 single or double occupancy. Only the Executive Director will deal directly with the hotel and will make reservations for all delegates. A deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve a room, the full value of which will be credited to your room account. Additionally, if you would like to extend your stay in Albuquerque, the hotel is offering the conference hotel rate for three days before and after the conference.
 
TRANSPORTATION
You will be flying into the Albuquerque International Sunport. You must make your own flight arrangements. At this time there is no discounted conference airline.
 
Golf PictureGOLF
 The 2006 NGAUS Golf Tournament will be held at the championship course at the University of New Mexico on September 15, 2006. This is a separate conference ticketed event and the fee is $65.00 per player.
 
5K FUN RUN
The 5K Fun Run will be held on September 16, 2006 at the Rio Grande Botanical Park The registration fee is $20.00 per participant.
 
UNIFORMS
The uniform for all conference business activities is Class B. The State’s Dinner will be Formal/Mess Dress.
 
STIPENDS
The National Guard Association of Pennsylvania is encouraging that Company Grade Officers (01-03) and Warrant Officers (W01-W02) apply for the Stipend Program. Current members of NGAPA, in the above pay grades, interested in attending the NGAUS Conference in Albuquerque may apply for a $500.00 stipend to defray costs. Personnel on travel orders or previous stipend recipients will not be eligible. If you are interested, submit a request by email to Dean Oswald at oswalddean@aol.com. Your request should express the reason for your interest and must be received NLT 15 July, 2006. Selections will be announced by 1 August, 2006.
