At its board meeting on 13 January 2012, the Pennsylvania National Guard Associations’ Board of Directors voted to approve a $1,000 donation to become a "founding donor” of the new Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation.  PNGAS made its donation in memory of the Pennsylvania National Guard members who have made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the Global War on Terrorism since 11 September 2001.

As a full partner in the Total Force, today’s Pennsylvania National Guard is an operational force whose members have served, and are serving, alongside their active duty and reserve component counterparts at home and abroad.  More and more of our Pennsylvania National Guard personnel are eligible for and receive services and benefits as veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States.

PNGAS believes it is particularly appropriate to become a "founding donor” of the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation because the Foundation’s charitable purposes focus on providing support and assistance to all Pennsylvania veterans, including many who have earned their veterans’ status by service in the Pennsylvania National Guard.  The Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation will complement and supplement existing veterans programs and undertake innovative efforts to help veterans obtain all the benefits they so richly deserve.

PNGAS encourages its members to consider a donation to help the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation as  it moves forward to "serve all who served.”  Donations may be sent to "Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation,” at PO Box 98, Annville, PA 17003 or made online at www.paveteransfoundation.org.
